Perched on West Seattle’s northeast facing bluff, the design for this house centers around a stunning view of Harbor Island, Seattle, the Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains. It reuses an existing foundation, and follows the original footprint of the previous structure. A reverse floor plan allows the kitchen, dining, and living areas to maximize views and natural light. Bedrooms were designed into the mid-level, and a ground-floor lounge connects with the landscape. The envelope was designed to provide maximum daylight and views to the north and east, while the south and west maintain privacy.
