RESIDENTIAL
Beacon Hill Residence
Seattle, Washington
Beginning with a north-south axis, the footprint is stretched east and west, establishing a zig-zag geometry to optimize the atypical lot shape. The design takes advantage of Seattle’s Accessory Dwelling Unit allowance by including a completely independent apartment unit at the ground level. A primary residence above comprises an upper-level common area, three bedrooms, and two and a half bathrooms. The design organizes decks to the east and west that supplement the dining and living areas. Pockets of protected cedar siding recess within a rainscreen envelope.
