Norkirk Residence
Kirkland, Washington
This house is located just north of downtown Kirkland, WA, due east of Seattle. By reusing the existing foundation of a former structure, construction of this project minimized earthwork and saved the entire concrete footprint of the previous structure. A new second level provides the necessary function for a 21st century home, and the symmetrical layout optimizes natural light and captures territorial views. The design of the exterior puts a premium on simplicity, and establishes a clear logic of function, form, and material.
